Central America High Points Part 3: Nearly Snubbed on Pico Mogotón
February 28th 2014 The third Central American peak on my tick list was Pico Mogotón in Nicaragua situated directly on the border with Honduras. During the 1980s Nicaraguan Contra War the Sandinista government, fearing a US invasion from Honduras, heavily mined the area.
