The town’s primary industry is sheep and cattle and I loved their arty sculptures in the main street.

Quilpie was a much larger town than we’ve been in recently with a population of 650. Quilpie comes from an aboriginal word for Curlew. We were excited to find a supermarket but unfortunately the limited fresh produce still tastes like cardboard.
