Apparently, nowhere else in the world do glaciers march so close to the sea....

For the first time the weather has beaten us. A number of tours on the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers have been postponed which creates a backlog of trips. We are booked onto another heli-hike (helicopter trip over and onto the glacier followed by a ramble on the glacier) for the 27th so it's all fingers and toes crossed that the weather clears.
