Oamaru has some impressive 19th century architecture and the Victorian Precinct was interesting. There were many fine buildings constructed in Oamaru limestone. These were built during the boom years of meat and grain exports plus the gold rushes in the region. The public park was very pretty with many nice flowers, shrubs and trees.
