Laos: Vientiane -'the quietest capital city in the world' December 2nd 2006 I sit bolt upright in my bed in Vietnam - the room has no windows so it's still dark. I have a feeling of panic and look at my watch - it's stopped! Oh no, what's the time?? I look at my phone (on English time) - it says 21.45 - I quickly add on the 7 hours and....oh god! It's nearly 7am! I've missed my 6am taxi to the airport and now will miss my flight to Laos!! Crap crap crap!
