From Chiang Rai to the border at Chiang Khong and across the river to Houayxi was an easy journey. We left around noon and arrived at our hotel around four. Although Houayxi is essentially a one stop town for those floating down the Mekong it was rather nice. The hotel selections were fine as were the food selections.
