3/1/2012 Varanasi. According to the locals, dawn arrives here at 6am and lest you forget that the Hindu temple bells and the Muslim Muezzins wake you at 5.45. Welcome to my travel blog. At the beginning of November my wife and I booked a flight to Manila to spend a month travelling around the central Philippines. It's mid November and the horrifying news of Typhoon Yolanda is around the globe. I have been to the Philippines before and know the Philippinos to be an ultra resilient people. We leave on the 28th of December and it seems unlikely that our plans will not be affected by the unfolding tragedy. I am however going to try to post as frequently as possible.... full info
