Sculpture of 'The man with the donkey'

John Simpson Kirkpatrick enlisted in the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance on 25th August 1914. He took part in the landing on Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 and became famous - with the help of a donkey he continually carried water up Shrapnel Gully and brought wounded men down to the beach at Anzac Cove. He was fatally wounded on 19th May 1915.
