I'm a traveler that likes to settle in and get to know the culture. I can't just skim the surface and jump from place to place. Getting to know the people of the country I'm in is essential and I often try to stay away from the backpacker scene because it is often the same wherever you go-not that there aren't some cool people in that crowd!
