Robben Island October 2nd 2006 An inspiring day. We made it to down to the harbour for our 9.00 ferry to Robben Island (more difficult than you think as our cabby conveniently tried to take a 'short-cut'). Only half an hour on the boat...more beautiful views...and we were at Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and released only in 1990.
