Manchester A poignant reminder: These traffic lights were damaged during the IRA terrorist attack in the city centre on 15th June 1996. I remembered that day because my friend and I were going to the Palace Theatre to see Copacabana musical but obviously the show was cancelled! Fortunately, no one was killed but there were a lot of injured people and chaos!

I made a few trips to Manchester during the autumn. It is so easy going across as it is only an hour's train journey from Leeds.
