Hello from Yunnan - after a 9 hr bus ride from Sapa I was happy to arrive in Kunming ~10pm. The first half of the journey included tropical hill country and deep gorges with muddy rivers - even steep hills are cultivated with bananas etc and there are ponies by the road for hauling loads.
