Montpellier, where we got stuck for a night after train cancellations. The jets in this fountain would randomly change strength/height or just die off completely, leaving an innocent statue on wet ground. We spent an inordinate amount of time watching people get wet

After our stint is Paris we headed straight for Lyon, a smaller city of about 400 000 (I'm not checking any of my facts, so they're probably wrong). The train to Lyon only takes 2 hours, and train travel is something I've grown very fond of.
