A long overdue start

I'm finally starting my blog here in Kunming! I've now been here in the city for several weeks, and have started Chinese classes at Yunnan Normal University (YNNU). We have a very comfortable apartment on the 29th floor of a building that most locals seem to know by name: 翠羽丹霞. That's "Cuiyu Danxia," or "Emerald-Feather Red-Dusk."
