South Island We arrived in Picton on the Interislander Ferry. Picton is at the top of the South Island and is a small town sandwiched between the hills and the deeply placid waters of Queen Charlotte Sound. We picked up our new car and after a few days stay in Picton exploring the town, we headed west through the hills to Nelson.
