Aftermath of storm

Most Canadians would say "What snow?" if they saw what was left after the storm. But, like Vancover and Victoria, Dalian doesn't get this stuff very often and is certainly not prepared for it. Many snow shovels are pieces of flat wood attached to poles.

Harbin Ice Festival at New Year's

We had heard lots about the Ice Festival. The main thing was that is was VERY cold. It wasn't as bad as it could have been but it was cold enough that I was glad I finally bought a set of long underwear.
