Cooking Lesson

Potentially the best thing we did all week was take a cooking class. The instructor taught out of her hutong home. She spoke very good english and was very funny. We learned how to make fish-flavored shredded pork, stirfry pork with sweet flour sauce, steamed chicken with minced chili, steamed chicken with mushroom, and spicy cabbage. The food was great, we both learned several cooking and seasoning tips, and for the first time in a month and half we were able to cook.

About halfway into the fall, the Chinese celebrate two holidays - Mid-Autumn Festival and National Week.
