Hou Hai Lake

Hou Hai is a recreation/tourist area in Beijing. We walked around the lake on our first day in Beijing. Note the mountains in the background-the air was incredibly clear. Apparently, the government has a weather bureau and can partially control the weather. For the 1st, they created a rain and thunder storm which cleared the pollution. It was the cleanest we'd seen since arriving in China.

About halfway into the fall, the Chinese celebrate two holidays - Mid-Autumn Festival and National Week.
