San Andrés Xecul y Más

This past Saturday I took the students (19!) to San Andrés Xecul, which is a small indigenous town about 40 minutes from Xela and is not at all catered to tourists. Xecul is a Kiché word for “under the shawl” which refers to the 3 surrounding mountains that ´protect´ the fertile valley where the town is located.
