Townsville is known as the capital of North Queensland and has a population of 160,000. In the morning we drove along the esplanade to the harbour to find out about the ferry's to the nearby Magnetic Island for tomorrow. Next we headed up to Castle Hill which provides a great view over the city

We are leaving on January 27th with our rucksacks and travelling for 6 months, returning on 11th July. Below is our itinerary and we hope to update an Internet Travel Blog and include the web address below if you want to follow us around the world.
27th January - Fly to Lima - Peru
We will spend a couple of weeks in Peru staying at a desert retreat and getting a train up Machu Picchu to following the Inca Trail. We will then travel to the salt flats of Bolivia and Lake Tititaca. We will travel through Argentina to eventually end up in Santiago (Chile).
