My first couple of days in Ecuador were pretty miserable - I broke my camera in Lima and so spent a couple of days in Quayaquil (Ecuador's largest and nastiest city) trying to find somewhere to get it fixed or replaced. Luckily, a repair shop fixed it in an hour (broken transistor) and so then the Galapagos trip was back on!!! (could never having contemplated going there without the camera...) ... read more
