Here we go - how to make a pinhole camera: d = 1.9 √f.λ where d is the diameter of hole, f is the distance from hole to paper, and λ is wavelength for light, about 550nm. Convert everything to metres and all we needed was a hole 0.432mm across. Easy! Cameron just happened to have a sewing kit with a needle [i]exactly[/i] that width, fancy that.
