The Real Ironmen

Whenver any of us felt particularly good about our climbing prowess or stamina, we were immediately humbled each time we saw any of the porters lugging 50-lb loads over their shoulder along most of the same 30-km route that we humped with less than half that weight while wearing our expensive hiking boots (notice the flip flops). Plus, most of them chain-smoke like prisoners on death row. Tough work!
