Our first night’s accommodation was in a farmhouse, very rustic including being able to see though the lathes, which were still to be plastered, but it had the best electrics we’d seen since Europe! We asked the owner, an indomitable granny, for a bucket of warm water, she came to investigate walked straight in on Terry tentatively splashing on cold water on and slapped me on the thigh as she walked out chuckling. Never did get any warm water.

Firstly enormous thanks to everyone for sending messages or posting comments, as ever they were all gratefully received; in fact we’re slightly incredulous both that we haven’t received more abuse and that we have been nagged for not posting more about India.
