Details.
Right now, I'm blogging from Luang Prabang in northern Laos, and I realize that Thailand sort of overwhelmed me with its dazzling golden wats. They are each breath-taking, but they are EVERYWHERE, and often, too similar for a non-Buddhist to take notice. Occasionally, I'd find a wat with a distinct central feature, and then be quite snap happy. Otherwise, if Dave and I were slightly tired from the train-bike ride/walk, we'd stare up in sort of appreciation and head quickly to the older crumbling stone wats.
