We had a tour of a pottery factory. They make 2 kınds of pottery -- whıte clay, whıch has a hıgh sılıca content, and red clay, whıch ıs hıgh ın ıron. Both are found locally, the whıte clay from volcanıc soıl (whıch ıs full of ash and very whıte), the red clay from the rıver banks.
