A cycle track goes all the way beside the canal

Unfortunately a lot of the trails are gravel with plane tree roots jutting out of the soil. This means you need a very good saddle or a well padded bottom - we had neither. In fact our bikes with small wheels wanted to drop you in the canal when you hit a root that ran along the track.

Canal Du Midi Carmen directed us to the Europcar office at the railway station in Montpellier and told us where to go, but it was a one way street.
