When we went down we stopped at Idaho Falls so I could take pictures of the falls but they did not have them "Turned On" believe it or not. The Snake river runs through Idaho Falls and from spring to fall (my best guess as I couldn't find anything on the Internet) the berm or wall lowers enough to let a select amount of water flow over onto the falls.
