This is part of one of the many shrines I have seen thus far! It was in Nara and has a huge bell. I got a sudden urge to try and ring it, but my conscience was actually functioning in this sacred place.
Deer me! February 6th 2006 TODAY IT SNOWED!!! And properly this time! There was a leetle bit of snow the night before last (while I was ignorantly snuggled up in my futon) and a tiny bit while I was at the train station in Hirakata on the way to Nara yesterday. I'm a South African Student on Exchange in Japan... I packed a ski jacket, surfboard and a pair of Chopsticks... I didn't bring previous knowledge of the language. We'll see where that leads me.
Since Japan I've been an ordinary SA student just plodding along making ceramics and getting a chance to see a bit of the world when I can.
