Taizhou's famed flower, the Camellia, is painted on sheets of marble.

Beyond the bronze plaque, we step into a very large hall. Quickly the eyes focus on this spectacular and colorful painting, magnificantly brush-painted on large, thin marble-sheets, celebrating the flower of Taizhou, the Camellia. It is a wonderful sight.

It is difficult to imagine, unless one has been a personal witness, how much Taizhou has changed its image and sky-line in only 2 years. That is the time since my first visit to this "mid-size" Chinese-city of 5 million inhabitants.
