turns out to be not so eternal. This is the third incarnation of the shrine. The first was destroyed by a hurricane. The second by an earthquake.

That was for W's dad... After a very long delay leaving Narita (2 hours...the pilot forgot the paperwork!) finally arrived in Taipei. An early wakeup and on the way via train to Hualien and Taroko Gorge. Just beautiful...Formosa. 7 hour trip through the Taroko Gorge was amazing. The photos will say it all.
