We liked Rio but Rio didnĀ“t like us much. We arrived to torrential rain which had caused a landslide blocking one of the main roads and causing many, many traffic jams. Our first challenge was getting from the airport to the hostel. There was a 2 hour queue for buses and the taxis were refusing to take us as the roads were so jammed.
