That's good bye and hello if you didn't realise. So, we took a daytime train from Irkutsk to Ulan Ude as the line hugs the coast of Lake Baikal so gives lovely views. Sadly it was a very wet, grey day so the lake was leaden rather than the shining blue when we'd seen from the island. Still, it was worth seeing and gave a good idea of how huge it is.
