So after a marathon bus journey we finally arrived in Cuenca, and jumped into a taxi to the closest and cheapest hostel...which didn´t turn out to be too bad...but it did have a cafe-restuarant in the middle, and all the rooms were off it...a little bizzare when you need an early night and you run to the bathroom in pjs and there´s men and women dressed up to go dancings....ohh well!! So the general idea is to head off into the depths of south america, stopping in Quito for 7 or so weeks, teaching kids english (yes, me and children, it will be interesting!- it'll do me good!!) with weekends off to lie on a beach/go white water rafting/climb volcanoes/bike/all those outdoor things i love but forget about when in the uk!! then into the jungle for a week or so, and down into Peru, possibly via a trendy surfing beach for a couple of weeks- Mancora/Trujillio, then on to Lima to pick up an organised tour through Inka-land and up int... full info
