12th Jul 2006 Chiang Mai I spent the night on a overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai; very restful. Very nice small city, not as busy or as smoggy as Bangkok. I'm heading out on a 3 day trek through the mountains tomorrow. We will be staying with some mountain tribes along the way, riding some elephants, white water rafting on bamboo rafts.
