Me and Devika

Devika is our 'domestic helper' basically the maid/servant- she is from a lower caste and therefore her future is already decided for her.....interesting to observe the cultural differences- Devika sits on the floor while she eats (After the family) cleans from first thing in the morning to the time she goes to bed.....she has become my little sister- i got to take her out to the Buddha's birthday celebration- im also teaching her how to read....which has been only slightly successful- but more than anything she has helped me most with my Nepali....she's one of the closest people i've gotten to while being here.....my little Devika
