From Rishikesh we got on the local bus to Shimla, the first mistake we made. Bus journeys are an experience in themselves and even the roads seem to have their very own caste system. People are the lowest of the low and aren't even considered. Push bikes get hardly any more consideration. Scooters are blasted out of the way and tuk tuks are overtaken at any cost.
