We drove out of our way to visit the only campground we had visited before (twice, actually). The Warren Dunes State Park campsite itself was sandy, although surrounded by trees. It was warm and windy when we rode our bikes to the dunes. The sand was very fine and sandblasted your body a little. The Lake Michigan shoreline stretched into infinity.
