Arrived in NZ, picked up car from airport then 20 min drive to motel from airport. Dinner at Jimmy's at Kingsgate hotel, nice meal, service a little slow but good home cooking.

Booked in for 9.30 tour to see penguins, lucky we called to check times again, they had changed to 9pm as t penguins were coming in earlier.

Took about 40 mins to drive out to the peninsula, scenic route the whole way along the edge of the harbour.

bit of wind around and temperature dropped rapidly, but lucky we travel prepared.

Before the tour we took a walk to the ocean side and were lucky enough to see an albatross come in over our heads, saw some seals, a sea lion and then the penguins, was a great night for wildlife.
