Kate was in New Zealand last week. She flew into Christchurch and we headed for the West Coast. We made a stop at Fox Glacier before continuing to the Copland River valley for a night at the Welcome Flat Hut. That night, Kate and I rested in the hot pools around the hut under a clear night sky. The next day we went to Mt Aspiring National park for the night. The following morning Kate proposed going to the Aspiring Hut, so we did just that. Kate got the unlucky sleeping arrangement, and was kept awake by the prepubescent snoring darkhorse. It rained all morning, but when we finally left, the weather eased, and by the time we got back to the Cruizz it was a fine day. We camped that night outside Queenstown. Her trip was topped off with a canyoning in Routeburn canyon. No photos from that (yet) because it was a guided trip. But Kate - Good on ya! It was super cool. That night we gorged at Fergburger in Queenstown and slept at the Alpine Lodge.
