I'm 75, love to travel, especially to have an opportunity to meet "locals" and get to know more about life in the places I visit. I have learned that it is the little unexpected things that happen in the course of a trip/vacation that often end up as the best memories. I strongly suggest reaching out to "locals" on Trip Advisor and other sites. They are hands down your best source for planning.... full info

One Lane bridge

See a lot of these on the south island and can be anywhere from 10 ft to 200 ft long. who goes first is determined by a sign with a red and white arrows.

New Zealand is supposed to be the home of "extreme sports" and jumping, diving, gliding etc out of planes is a big part of it.

Safe driving is a very big deal here with a strong emphasis on staying awake and not speeding.
