Hi everyone,,
Leaving Hokitika has been made easier as hopefully we will leave the rain behind too.
Stopped in Reefton which can only be likened to an old fashioned cowboy town, something out of the Wild West movies. Came across the obligatory bubble machine shooting out bubbles across the street !!! A bit strange. Apparently the second machine broke. What a shame ha ha
Arrived in Hanmer Springs at 4pm. What a gorgeous place. So pretty. Our b an b is set in a really lovely garden. Breakfast will be served outside if the wind dies down and Pat can find his thermals.
Just along the road are some hot spring pools. We went along and tried the natural sulphur one first. It was 40 * +. Lovely if it didn’t feel like someone else’s bath water. ?I’m sorry but I much prefer cold pools or seas or lakes. The colder the better. Still it was a good experience. Pat however found the water temp ideal. ?
You can see the mountains at the end of the high street and even a glimpse from our breakfast table.
The NZ authorities are warning that there could be trouble if Pat takes me

WHY?

to a craft shop, as opening his wallet could put the country at risk .The British moth if let loose into the environment could introduce unwanted disease threatening all wildlife. Lol
Moving to Kaikoura in a minute. Our suitcases don’t know if they are coming or going. ?
