While searching randomly on the internet the other day i came across a site that i think might help people travelling around NZ in a camper van

parkyourcamper.com is an awesome idea some people in NZ have come up with. It has a map showing locations of free overnight parking anywhere in NZ. I cannot explain how much this site would have helped us when we were travelling around. You can view all, so you see all the spaces, or search for an area and it brings up any space within about 30miles of the town or city you'll be in that night. some areas also have alternative activities to what you might otherwise know about.

My favourite thing about the site is it is user generated. if you find a space to park in an area blank on the map on the site you can email it in, so others can enjoy. also, if you try using a space recommended and it is no longer a viable option, informing them means future travellers will know. it is being used heavily in the south, and slowly increasing in the north island too.

anyway, i recommend this to anyone travelling around NZ in a camper or car that is looking for free overnight parking. i also think that if travellers add to the site even more, it will soon be THE resource for travelling in NZ.

hope this helps at least one person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
