Ok, so wednesday was Margaret and my (thats not correct is it :S) day at Milford Sound. It is infact only like 60km away from queenstown, but over a rather large mountain range, so we instead went 300km there and back. But it was an increibly scenic drive through huge U shaped valleys, terrifyingly unsatbel looking tunnels and past mirror lakes. Just incredible! We had a rather crazy driver Diesel who proceeded to overtake a number of tourist campervans rather near to corners (he assures us hes done this route over 500 times!). The road is very often shut during winter as the mountains get covered in snow and avalanches are common. Marvellous. The tunnel of terror is the same as it was when it was built after the war, no internal enforcements, jus a few metal wire things which i could snap nae bother. But we got through alive, phew!

Then we hopped aboard the Pride of Milford for a yummy buffet lunch and some more spectacular views,. Huge steep jagged mountains rising straight up out of the water. Jus incredible. pictures jus cannot do it justice. Then we went into an underwater observatory - the top 10m of water is glacier melt fresh water, whilst the remaining 800m (!) are salt water from the tasman sea so you get unusual fish down there. There is an 11 legged star fish that will detach one of its legs if it cant find a mate. This lef will eventually grow into a whole new star fish. Clever!

Sailed past a rather large waterfall on the way back , 150m high....thats the height of Nevis Bungy that we were to be undertaking in less than 24hours. eek!

Returned home after a long but wonderful day to discoved the 'remarkable sweet shop.' And it was remarkable. Every different sweet imaginabel and then.... the fudge. O the fudge. Im salivating thiking about it! :S Creme Brulee flavour, Peanut Butter, baileys, the list goes on. We were in HEAVEN! HAd a cheese, wine and fudge night with the girlies in our room, we are just so civilised :-)

Ok, maybe queenstown will be in 3 parts, Bungy needs a whole blog of its own!
