We were quite tired from yesterday’s 570km drive so we slept in until we had to get up to check out and head over to the resort.
The thermal springs are a series of pools with water heated to varying temperatures. The hottest were the sulphur pools at 40 degrees…warm, but not as hot as the thermal springs at Lightning Ridge in NSW. We mainly bathed in the 38 degree Hexagonal pools. They were largely shaded, which is what we needed since it was quite a hot day…it was actually quite odd being in a hot pool on a hot day.
Once we finished for lunch we drove on back to Christchurch. We dropped off our car, having done 4,298.4 kms. We went back to our motel, and await our 3:45am wake up call for the flight tomorrow morning….eeeek!
We have had a most excellent holiday. We’ve both given it a 9/10.
