Monday 9th February - Franz Josef

Hi!

Well the party was great and everyone looked fab! Les cooked dinner for all 50 of us - Steak, cheesy potatoes etc was great and so nice to eat meat for a change and all for $10 - about 4 quid!!!
When the bar closed we all walked to the Lake to see the Glow Worms - very cool!

Today we made our way to Franz josef, stopping off at the Bushmans Centre on the way - very random place! Basically it was about Deer Farming and the history of how they use to catch deer by jumping from helicopters and landing on their backs?!? Anyway can't say it was a highlight of my day but the breakfast there was great! Arrived in Franz Josef where it is raining - not uncommon as the bar motto is 'It rains...we pour'!
Off to bed early tonight as we are hiking the Franz Josef Glacier tomorrow - very excited!!
