This is a first for me - Glaciers in all their glory. Amazing to see up close, but not too close as it could be really dangerous.
Needless to say there were a few idiots who did get closer by crossing all the safety barriers
People have been killed in the past, by disregarding all the warnings Had to stop at The Bushman Centre, you can't miss it as it has a giant sandfly on the front of the building.
It's a bit of a museum with novelty stuff to look at.
It also has a restaurant specializing in all things containing possum -
And no! We didn't try any of it! And don't forget to pop over the road for a stubby at the Puke Pub - Great name for a pub....
New Zealand has a thing about one lane bridges, they are just about everywhere.
But now we have to share these bridges with trains!!!
Believe it or not, there are now rail tracks up the centre of them and signs saying look out for trains!!!
Makes you wonder who's going to back up, This is a first for me....
Being so close to a Glacier.. a 150 ton train or us?
Fortunately we didn't meet any trains while on those bridges.
