Today wasn’t too exciting. We spent until lunchtime cleaning our van and packing as much as we could. It’s amazing how much stuff we’ve accumulated over our time in NZ. Eventually we had a massive pile of things we wanted to send home so took it to the post office to see if we could afford to. £50 and 8kg lighted we felt that our luggage might just be under 20kg again!

Matt had been looking forward to shopping for a kite for weeks so we drove to some of the shops he’d researched on the net. After an awful lot of chatting with shop owners, he decided on a 4m kite that would be suitable for any land based progression (eg land buggys and land boarding) once he’d got the hang of it. Then again he might just be happy flying it as 4m is pretty big and it should be a challenge for him. I on the other hand might be blown away into the sky if I try to hold it so I might avoid gving it a go until at least my rib has healed.

Our evening was spent eating chocolate and weird combinations of food in order to try to use up our left overs, washed down with Speights and wine.
