three weeks of fun in our little campervan are now over; top five wombat-mobile moments...

1. hel's face when I jumped out of the van at palmerston north to get a ticket for parking and returned two mins later with Pat and Marlene, retired farmers, who i met and exchanged a few friendly words with at the meter before accepting an impromptu invite to join them for dinner and camp on their farm in the middle of nowhere!

2. pulling up 10m from a seal colony at 7.30 this morning to enjoy the sunrise and setting with a brew on womba's little stove

3. shelter, warmth and a hot meal after walking for 6hrs in sideways rain around mordor/mount doom (tongarrio national park)

4. driving the winding and scenic coastal road to kiakoura in glorious sunshine, passing vineyard after vineyard before reaching the southern alps

5. helen's response to me humming the tune to the littlest hobo - "are you singing to yourself about being the littlest homo?". I know, should be no.1
