Our next OS trip: New Zealand.
Flew into Christchurch 10ish and went straight to pick up our new home for the next 12 days: a six berth Backpacker campervan.
First surprise was the amazing scenery of Arthurs Pass, just a two hour drive from the capital of the South Island.

Crystal clear but feet numbingly cold. We filled up our water bottles here with the pure fresh glacial water.

Each bend in this windy road revelaed ever more spectacular scenery. We were spellbound.

Very intelligent birds that like to get their beaks into everything: tents, backpacks, cars, windshield wipers...whatever. You must play a game of placing rocks around your property and splashing them with water if they pass the invisible line, then they leave you alone.
